============================================= TLWiki proudly presents: Symphonic Rain Unofficial English Demo v0.7 http://tsukuru.info/tlwiki/index.php?title=Talk:Symphonic_Rain "Aishite ne <3 motto" ============================================= Thank you for downloading this unofficial demo. Why 'unofficial'? Because it was built from the ground up - unlike the later title "Dear Pianissimo", Symphonic Rain was not released as a demo. Which is a shame if I may add, because it's really one of the most enjoyable games in the visual novel genre. This comes as an early release of the Symphonic Rain translation project, based on the *work in progress* translation by TLWiki 20080329. Please be aware that the script has *not* been edited in any way whatsoever and does not reflect the final shape it will have in the final release. This said, I hope it will draw more interest for people to join the project, as there are several positions to be filled if you want to help in this localization project. Demo contains the first week of the game, which offers a good view on how the game turns out, without revealing too much of each road. Saving and loading is possible, but the exe has been crippled so that you cannot play custom tracks in Free Play mode. Sorry, guys. === Known issues === Engine: Wordwrap is mostly OK, save for the following annoyances: * the positioning algorithm for the waiting animation should be tweaked to better stick to the text being displayed (esp. seen when text contains words that use longer letters such as 'm' or 'w'). * Text layout in the backlog doesn't work correctly atm (will be fixed in final release) * Occasional glitches in the drawing method when a dialogue line is paused midway. * The timing between when a line has finished drawing and when the following one starts drawing is too long. It is advised to set text speed in the game options to alleviate this. * May experience occasional crashes. Randomly, sadly. * Running the game with WINE yields relatively correct results, but there are sound echo issues and Music Mode is unplayable. Save regularly, and enable auto mode in game options. Graphics: Interface hasn't been translated so far. I shall make PNGs available if someone expresses the wish to work on that point. Fortunately, the game is relatively straightforward in this regard. Translatable elements include: * Options screen (top priority) * Places names * Quit game prompt ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As a final word, I'd like to thank User:Phar for his great dedication and really excellent translation accuracy, although he would not admit it.
